Windows 10 crashes when downloading a torrent
Forgot your password? By maddienanna , August 1, in Troubleshooting. I have the new windows 10 upgrade as of 31st July. I was using Vuze but I can no longer download anything now, So I'm looking for a torrent client that works with windows 10, Has anybody had problems with BitTorrent since the windows upgrade?
Vuze shows 'error failed to create parent directory' no help from Vuze regarding this, Thanking you all.
I'm having some problems with it. Either the BitTorrent window or the File Explorer window or both flickers rapidly when I move a torrent on to it. I have to start Task Manager to stop it happening but I don't actually have to kill any task - it just seems to magically stop flickering when Task Manager opens and BitTorrent starts operating normally.
I suspect it's some sort of incompatibility but not too serious. Is anyone else having this problem see my posting above? If so, is a Windows 10 compatible version likely to be available in the near future? I can no use anymore bitorrent since i upgraded to windows 10 from windows 7. By Viper16 , March 6, in Troubleshooting. I have looked at the FAQ and the incompatibility software section,I use Bitdefender internet security suit, which is not incompatible. O2 - BHO: btorbit.
O4 - Startup: TrayIt!. O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: xpsp3res. Process Explorer. I Exited Trayit and still the same problem. But it did take uTorrent longer to shut down the computer. I suspect a corrupt file. Be sure to check for root kits too. That dump file is showing a problem with your wireless driver bcmwl63a. Also you may have bad ram best to check with memtest Can also be malware related rootkit. Have you tried another large file, just to test if it's file corruption we're dealing with?
As I'm sure you're aware, torrent sites are notoriously "Hacker Playpens". Ceotase :. Nov 4, 8, 34 55, 2, SYS Tue Jul 12 if this does not resolve the problem you have to find out what overwrote the stack.
The next bugcheck should name the driver that is doing the corruption rather than naming the driver that crashed because its data was corrupted.
A different file didn't make a difference. If that doesn't work. I'll run verifier and all that good stuff and report back. Really appreciate the help so far, folks. So this is interesting. No update other than that but dang man. When installer a USB controller, my monitor crashed and recovered several times.
I think it's because I clicked on the warning like 20 times but is this normal? Hopefully this isn't premature but either uninstalling SuperAntiSpyware or the new drivers that DriverBooster found and installed have appeared to solve my problem.
This is much longer than it's ever ran without crashing so I'm pretty sure it's solved. Hopefully I won't have to make this thread again in a few weeks. I'm at a bit of a loss on whose answer to select as solution but I I guess I'm gonna go with TechGuy since I think it was the network driver that took care of it.
I appreciate both JohnBl and Ceotase very much for your suggestions though and they may have contributed for all I know. Thanks so much guys! I really need to fix this, it's incredibly annoying. I'll run a few other tests and check a few things and report back to you. I'm fairly certain it's a steam specific issue, since large downloads on other clients origin, uplay, browser etc run without any issues. Last edited by BlueBanana ; 16 Mar, am.
So I just downloaded 24GB without any issues. So I added the steam folder to the exceptions. It's probably wise not to add the whole steam folder, but it will do for testing purpososes. I can't tell for sure if that solved the issue completely - but it looks promising. Hi, thanks for your responses! I tried your suggestion, but I still got a crash while downloading DOOM : After spending a lot of time with the Steam support I kinda came to the conclusion that it's my hardware, that somehow Steam downloads access the hardware differently than Uplay or Origin, so it causes my faulty hardware to crash.
I have no proof of this, and I'm tired of trying out stuff now. Guess I'll have to invest into some new hardware at some point. Before investing in any new hardware I suggest to run a few diagnosis tools. The most likely defective hardware that could cause this, would be a faulty harddrive. Use seatools Link [www. It takes a long time, let it run over night or so. Another thing you can do is check your ram for errors.
